Mother's Day Lunch

Hi Friends!
So as all of you know yesterday was Mother's Day, which is honestly a really awesome day because I know I tend to forget to remind my mom how much I actually appreciate her. Yesterday was my chance to let her know that I really do love her and am so grateful for all the sacrifices she makes for me. All mushy things aside, we all decided to go to Santana Row for lunch where she tried Pluto's for the first time! It was actually really good but I don't think it's something I could eat for dinner. They mostly have salads and sandwiches and stuff. For lunch it was awesome though! I had this really great BBQ chicken sandwich with a whole bunch of stuff inside. My mom got this MASSIVE salad that I heard was really good too. Besides the lunch we didn't really get to do much. We just walked around Santana Row for a bit and took pictures. My mom and I didn't get a picture together so we took one in my room when we got home:) I hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day and I hope your mothers know how lovely they are<3
Sincerely,
Vy Tran<3

College Decisions

Okay so I'm supposed to be writing my essay right now but with how much I've already gotten done I decided I needed a break.
You guys probably don't know, but as of right now I'm committed to California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. The sad part is that a week ago I didn't even know its full name. Someone asked me what school I was going to and I couldn't even tell them (oops!).
A few weeks ago I was getting really depressed about the fact that I only got into TWO schools of the TEN I applied to. I was really down about the fact that everyone I knew was going to UC Davis or Berkeley or LA or any UC and I wasn't. I mean I did get into UC Santa Cruz but that just isn't the place for me.
I've come to realize that I really need to stop comparing myself to the other students. It's MY life and MY future and tbh their college of choice probably won't matter to me in a few years. Plus there are people who can't afford to go to a great school like Cal Poly.
This post is to remind myself that it's okay that I'm going to an awesome state school and that going to a UC doesn't define me. It's what I make of college that defines me.
To sum everything up, I'm going to stop comparing myself to the other kids and be happy about whatever happens to me in the future. I'm lucky that I got into such an awesome school.
I gotta get back to writing my AP Lit essay but I hope y'all are happy with whatever you guys do with your future.
Love,
Vy Tran, Cal Poly Freshman.

I Was in Europe?

What's up guys? Wow I've never actually used that greeting before... I don't know that I will again. Anyway, as I mentioned earlier I would try and update you guys on my trip to Europe! For those of you who don't know, I'm involved in a club called the League of Historians, and it's made up of a bunch of history nerds who really enjoy... well... history haha. I was first invited by the president, Cassidy Shapiro who mentioned that she wanted to take a trip to Europe. She managed to make that happen by organizing this trip with EF Tours to voyage across several different countries. We first landed in Switzerland then made our way through Italy and France. Overall the experience was life changing. I realize people always say that after having taken a trip to a different country but I've never actually travelled anywhere so this really exposed me to many different cultures and lifestyles.  I can't say that I LOVED every place I went to but I definitely had a great time there. Since we were there for a good 12 days there is a lot that I could say about the trip but I'm gonna leave you guys with some of the pictures that I really liked. Oh and also shoutout to Cassidy for taking these adorable pictures. I had a few too but they didn't seem to do any justice. Hopefully someday I'll be back!

Cheesin' it on the the boat that took us all the way to Venice. (Yeah we sang Boats and Hoes for a bit).
Went on the gondolas in Venice!

Cassidy caught this little over-the-shoulder number while we were on the gondolas.
Definitely enjoyed the old/run down buildings we went by.
Oh and quick shout out to the Dover kids who were super fun to hang out with! It was really nice getting to know you guys and I'm glad it was you guys we tagged along with.

With or Without You, Makeup!

Hi friends! I know I always do that thing where I don't post for a really long time but this time there's a reason! I've actually been in Europe for the past two weeks! Exciting, I know! I am back to my boring life now and decided I needed to make this post (which is irrelevant to my trip to Europe). This isn't my normal haul/review post but I feel that it needed to be said.
A few weeks ago I was hanging out with my boyfriend and I accidentally got some makeup on his shirt when I hugged him. Now this doesn't sound like a big deal but it was to me. I had this MASSIVE breakdown about how I hate wearing makeup and I hate getting it on his clothes all the time and having to be careful about getting it on my other things too. I was conflicted because I felt too self conscious to go without makeup, which made me self conscious about wearing makeup. Confusing right? Well my idea was that I wasn't confident enough to step outside the house with a naked face. At the same time, I hated wearing makeup because it was a constant reminder that I was self conscious.
I realize that my mentioning Europe had a point. This is because when I got back I felt like a completely different person. I don't know if it was because I was exposed to so many new things or I met so many new people, but in the end I felt significantly better. At this point I've decided to accept the way I was put together and embrace how I look without makeup. Having said that, I've also decided to accept the fact that I love wearing makeup. Being able to ignore my insecurities has made me feel like wearing makeup isn't for hiding those insecurities but for displaying the parts of myself I do like. I think coming back from Europe has made me realize there are so many things out there to explore and worrying about the way I look seems like a waste of time. I'm content with how I look regardless of whether I have makeup on or not and I plan to keep this mindset for a long time. I hope this somehow inspires you guys to find the better things about yourself and appreciate them. As cliche as it sounds, don't worry about the way you look too much(:
Hope y'all have a nice day!
I'll be back to update you guys on my trip!
Love,

Delushious Bathtubs

Hi there guys! I don't know if this is considered TMI, but I'm actually sitting in the bath posting about bath bombs. The other day I took a trip to the mall with a couple of friends and waltzed into the Lush store. Although I had no intention of buying anything I waltzed back out with these three items in hand. I wouldn't consider these to be my FAVORITE but I do really enjoy using them. This post isn't much of a review however I'll briefly mention the reason behind the purchase. I did order several more bath bombs online so maybe I'll do reviews for those ones in the future. Until then, I hope you enjoy all the little blurbs. Here goes:

Ickle Baby Bot
This tiny little robot that appears to be contaminated by the Space Girl bath bomb is fully blue and turns your bath water into a beautiful ocean-y color. I really appreciate this one since I often have trouble sleeping, or even just relaxing in general. This bomb contains lavender which is probably my favorite scent. I can't stress enough how mellow it makes me feel every time I drop it into the water. I also really like this because it's one of the cheaper bombs from Lush:)

Butterball
Before this run to Lush, I had not tried Butterball. From numerous the British Youtube community (aka Zoella, Tanya Burr, and SprinklofGlittr) I heard that this one is very hydrating for the skin and boy were they right! After using this my skin felt SO soft plus the bath smelt really, really good. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that it doesn't really color my bath water some interesting color. I was able to look past it though since it smelled like Vanilla and the Cocoa Butter did wonders to my very very ashy legs (TMI?). I would definitely purchase this again.

Space Girl
I've had this bath bomb before but I have to say that I think I liked it better the first time. Don't get me wrong, it's still a really great one, but it is a lot less fragrant them I remember. It is also the one I am using right now. It does make my bath a bit red-orangish which seems fun, but I wish I could get more of a nice smell out of it. I can't say I'm completely disappointed because I did spot a few specks of glitter which is always really fun.

The Bathtub
Oh and here's a picture of my bath.

Hopefully, my Lush package will come in time for me to make another post about the products. I may or may not have time to do a full review since I will be off to Europe at the beginning of April (I'm super excited!). Have a wonderful day y'all!
Love,
Vy aka the Lush lover
